Emily Lindner
Postdoctoral Research Associate, Van Os lab
Emily is originally from Sheboygan, Wisconsin but grew up in Clermont, Florida. She completed her B.S. (2019), M.S. (2021), and PhD (2025) at the University of Florida.
Emily’s M.S. and PhD work investigated the effects of early life social housing on various behavioral, developmental and production outcomes in dairy heifers. Her M.S. work focused on the impact early life social housing had on social preference and bond formations among heifers. Her PhD work investigated the longer-term effects of early life social housing including growth, onset to puberty, maternal behaviors surrounding calving, milk production, and herd survivability.
During her time at the University of Florida she taught the Animal Welfare Assessment course, coached the Animal Welfare Judging Team, and was the graduate student advisor for the Dairy Science Club.
Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher in the Van Os lab.
