Dr. Silva is from Brazil. She completed her B.S in Veterinary at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, where she was born and raised. After graduating, she moved to São Paulo to earn her Master and PhD in Animal Science at the University of São Paulo. During her PhD, she did an internship at the University of Wisconsin-Madison under the supervision of Dr. David Combs. She joined the Van Os lab as a Research Specialist from 2020-2023.
