Madalina Mincu
Fulbright Visiting PhD Student Researcher, Van Os lab (former)
Madalina was a member of the Van Os lab from October 2023 to May 2024 as a Fulbright Visiting PhD Student Researcher.
Madalina became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. From 2020-2024, she conducted her PhD program at the University of Agronomic Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest, Romania. Her PhD thesis focused on studying the effects that temperament has on production and welfare of dairy cattle and water-buffalo. In 2019, Madalina received her permanent position as Assistant Researcher at the Research and Development Institute for Bovine Balotesti, a research unit of the Romanian Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences.
The overall aim of her work is centered around improving dairy cattle and water-buffalo production efficiency and welfare, through the use of behavioral indicators, under different production systems. She is actively involved in a number of RDI projects concerning farmed animal health and welfare, projects supported by Romanian national (BovineTalk, ADER 7.1.9 and ADER 7.2.2) and EU (SOUNDcontrol, LIFT and EU-LI-PHE COST Actions) programs.
